Dear KAMASI family,

"DON’T LOOK AWAY" it is not just a slogan; it is the backbone of our brand.

We started our brand because of our love for fashion and aiming to provide to our clients the best quality products, but with the clear mission of putting the health of our beloved planet in first place.

We had clear in our minds that we did not want to be just another fashion or eyewear brand, we wanted to make a difference. We wanted to disrupt this way of making fashion.

Therefore, we created our sunglasses to look at our beautiful world without having to look away from the problems coming from the production of the piece of eyewear we created.

We DON’T LOOK AWAY from the fact that plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues, as rapidly increasing production of disposable plastic products overwhelms the world’s ability to deal with them. This is why the frames of our sunglasses are made of bio-based and biodegradable materials.

We DON’T LOOK AWAY from the fact that lost and abandoned fishing gear, which is deadly to marine life, makes up the majority of large plastic pollution in the oceans, according to a report by Greenpeace. This is why the cases of our sunglasses are made of recycled fishing nets recovered from the oceans.

We DON’T LOOK AWAY from the fact that wasteful packaging makes up the third most abundant component of litter. Packaging sits behind cigarettes and food for the highest amount of litter. This is why we partnered with TIPA packaging to strengthen our commitment to sustainability. The packaging we choose is made with recycled materials and it is plastic-free, recyclable and biodegradable.

We KAMASI, go beyond the concept of recycling and sustainability. We want to create a movement, from our suppliers to our customers, where each one of us can leave a mark for the generations to come and for the future of our planet.

Because ‘good for the business’ should and, in our view, must mean ‘good for the planet.’
